61 On Trolleys At UHL Today

Hospital trolleys

Nurses say 61 patients have been left waiting for beds at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the INMO show the level of overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick is on the rise once again, with 37 patients on trolleys in the ED and a further 24 being accommodated in overflow areas of wards.

The overall figure is 20 more than the next busiest hospital and has resulted in the Dooradoyle facility becoming the busiest in the country once again.
