61 On Trolleys At UHL As Number Of COVID Patients Falls

There’s been a further gradual fall in the number of COVID-19 patients at University Hospital Limerick.

There are 36 confirmed cases of the virus in UHL, which has now been overtaken by Letterkenny General Hospital as the hospital with the highest number of COVID cases in Ireland.

The number of COVID patients in intensive care in Limerick has increased by one to six.

Separately, the level of overcrowding at UHL has fallen slightly today, but remains the highest in the country.

The latest INMO figures show there were 61 people waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 48 of those in the emergency department.
