Hospital trolleys

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has fallen slightly today.

The latest figures from the INMO show there were 59 people on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 48 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is 22 more than the next busiest facility, Cork University Hospital, and comes on a day when 233 people were waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
