56 On Trolleys At UHL

Hospital trolleys

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is almost three times that of the next busiest facility today.

The latest INMO figures show that 56 people were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 37 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure nearly three times the next highest figure, at Dublin’s Mater Hospital, and this comes on a day when 128 people are waiting on trolleys at hospitals across the country.
