55 On Trolleys At UHL

Hospital trolleys

Trolley numbers at the region’s main hospital have dropped slightly today, but the level of overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick remains more than three times that of any other facility in the country.

The latest INMO figures show there were 55 people waiting for beds in Dooradoyle this morning, 45 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is 37 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 171 people were waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
