Hospital trolleys
There has been a spike in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.
The latest figures from the INMO show 55 patients were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 37 of those in the emergency department.
It’s 16 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 370 people have been left on trolleys at hospitals across the country.
