There are over 50 children in emergency accommodation in Co. Clare.
The latest figures from Clare County Council show it was accommodating 54 homeless children at the end of September, along with a further 58 adults.
On top of this, the 13 beds at the Laurel Lodge hostel for homeless men were also full.

The Council recently appointed Novas Ireland to run a family hub that is due to open in Ennis in early 2019, with a view to reducing family homelessness, and it’s also continuing to seek ‘Expressions of interest’ from land owners or developers in areas of housing demand.
