Nurses say there remains a high level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital as another week begins.

The latest INMO figures show 50 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 30 of those on trolleys in the Emergency Department.

It’s the highest overall figure in the country, which is 3 more than the next busiest facility – Galway University Hospital, where 47 patients were waiting to be admitted earlier today.
