Hospital trolleys

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is more than double that of the next busiest facility.

The latest INMO figures show 48 people were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 25 of those on trolleys in the emergency department.

The overall figure is 28 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 131 people were left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
