47 On Trolleys At UHL As Nurses Warn Of ‘Winter of Discontent’

University Hospital Limreick is again the most overcrowded hospital in the country today.

For the second successive day, there are 47 patients awaiting admission to the region’s main hospital, according to the INMO’s Daily Trolleywatch statistics.

Today, 28 of those are on trolleys in the Emergency Department.

It comes as nurses nationally warn of a ‘winter of discontent’ in the HSE if their pay claims aren’t met.

The Organisation has called for a special delegate conference next month, and are warning of strike action if the government hasn’t tabled ‘a serious pay offer’ by that time.
