Elderly people in Clare are having to wait up to two years to make essential changes to their homes.
New figures show that 465 people in the county were waiting on grants to adapt their house to suit medical needs at the end of June.
Processing for the Housing Aid for Older People is taking up to 18 months, while for the Housing Adaption Grant for People with Diability and Mobilty Aids Grants, can take nine months.
