40 New COVID-19 Cases Recorded Nationally As Clare Figure Rises

There has been one new death reported to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre today.

It brings to 1,774, the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.

The HPSC has been notified of 40 confirmed cases of the virus, bringing the total number to 26,838, with the denotification of two cases.

Of those 40 cases, 12 are in Dublin, 11 in Kildare, 7 in Offaly, and the remaining 10 are spread across Clare, Donegal, Limerick, Meath, Roscommon, Tipperary, and Wicklow.

It is unclear how many of these cases are in Clare.

Clare’s official total stands at 411 after five cases were recorded yesterday.

The HSE is working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.
