Plans have been unveiled for a new town on the Clare side of the UL campus that could generate 3,500 jobs.

The Council is promoting what it’s calling Europe’s first 21st Century University Town, saying it will provide for a full range of living, working and social spaces integrated with University facilities.

The development of what is also called a Strategic Development Zone is supported by UL, requires government approval, and a formal application on this will be submitted in the coming weeks.
