24 hour flood response scaled back -but emergency crews on call.

The Clare Crisis Management Centre is stepping down its high alert response for the moment as flooding conditions stabilise across the county.

Floodwaters rose by 2 inches overnight in parts of Clonlara, Springfield Shannon Banks and Westbury however there was no more house evacuations.

The ESB has also announced it won’t be increasing the level of water discharged from the Parteen Weir today.

In Ennis, river levels have also reduced and current weather patterns for the weekend are not expected to impact adversely on the current situation.

The number of calls to the 24 hour helpline has dropped significantly and so the management centre is being scaled back but can be re-activated at very short notice, if conditions deteriorate next week.
