Clare’s 22 site visits last year is an increase from 18 on the previous year, and is up from just 5 in 2013.

Previously-released figures show most of those visits came in the opening six months of last year, and while no further details are released, Clare FM understands that many of these would have occurred in the Shannon area.

Only five other counties had more of these visits, which see potential clients shown locations where they’re being encouraged to invest.

The IDA has also stated that there was a net increase of 40 in the number of people employed by their client companies in Clare throughout last year.
