2021 Tag Rugby World Cup To Come To Midwest In

The government has welcomed the announcement that the 2021 Tag Rugby World Cup is to come to the MidWest.

It’s expected that around 3,000 players and fans will travel to Ireland from over 20 countries for the event, which has never previously been held in the Northern Hemisphere.

A joint bid led by the UL Conference and Sports Campus and the Irish Tag Rugby Association supported by Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau, Fáilte Ireland and Limerick City and County Council was successful in winning the event for Limerick.

It’s expected that the event will generate €5m for the local economy.
