2 Million To Be Spent On Adapting Clare Homes

Two million euro will be spent on adapting the homes of the elderly and less-able bodied in Clare.

It forms part of a total fund of close to 60 million euro announced by Housing Minister Simon Coveney.

The money will be distributed to older people and those with disabilities to ensure their homes are fit to live in and that they do not need to enter a care facility.

It’s claimed some people will still be losing out, after the government designated 2 million euro for housing adaptation grants to Clare.

Minister Simon Coveney has allocated the fund to this county as part of a total pot of around 60 million euro provided nationally to ensure less-abled people have a liveable home.

47.8 million euro is provided by the government, with the remaining 12 million coming from local authorities.
