1,200 March Against Boundary Extension

South East Clare Residents have called on the government to respect their views on the county boundary following a major protest against any extension on the Limerick Border.

Around 1200 people marched from Westbury Church to the existing boundary at Athlunkard Bridge yesterday to make their opposition known to any moves to include Shannon Banks and the Westbury area in a new Limerick authority.

People from all parts of Clare took part in the March lead by the Mayor of Clare Christy Curtin, local TDs, Community and GAA Representatives.
