Limerick – Ennis Railway Line Reopened

The Limerick to Ennis railway line is re-opening today after almost two months of closure due to flooding on the tracks at Ballycar, near Newmarket-On-Fergus.

This section of the track is prone to flooding with previous instances forcing the track to close for lengthy periods.

Irish Rail have previously said that the cost of permanently preventing flooding on the track would be around €10 million.
