Top Honours For Clare Business At National Awards

Donnellans Centra, Loughville in Co Clare has been given top honours for Hygiene and Food Safety at The National Q Mark Awards on Friday September 29th at the Clayton Hotel, Dublin 4.

Their nomination earlier this year put them in the top 6.75% of all audits completed by the EIQA on the island of Ireland and this win means they are at the very top of the Q for highest standards of Quality and Excellence.

“We are unbelievably proud as we really feel that our dedicated and more personal approach has worked for us and having such good people working together towards something bigger than ourselves has been vital in our success” said Edwina Donnellan

Known as The Oscars of Business Excellence, The Q Mark Award is the highest accolade an Irish business can achieve, given both the intense competition and the exacting standards required. Speaking at this year’s awards Irene Collins, Managing Director of EIQA said “Edwina and her team implement the highest standards of hygiene and food safety on a daily basis.  Well done to everyone”

Donnellans Centra is a family run business which is retailing for 29 years. The store has recently been extended to 3000 square feet to include a full off-licence and extended deli area, new canopy and car wash for the forecourt. They provide local employment in the area as a busy Texaco Forecourt, Deli and Centra store.

Over 500 people representing 135 companies attended the glitzy, black-tie ceremony in competition for one of only 26 awards presented. The Master of Ceremonies was Chicago based keynote speaker, author and business humourist Conor Cunneen; Irishman Speaks.  Funds raised on the night for Debra Ireland were much appreciated and celebrations went on into the early hours with live music from ‘The Swing Cats.’
