Works To Improve Council Housing Took 32 Weeks Between Tenancies

It took 32 weeks on average to bring local authority housing up to standard, between tenancies last year.

While the NOAC’s recently published Performance Indicators Report for 2017, shows the average cost of works between tenancies was close to 25,000 euro.

The latest figures from the National Oversight and Audit Commission’s revealed that Clare County Council owned 2,341 properties at the beginning of 2017.

An additional 86 were constructed or acquired during the course of the year, with 8 houses sold.

At the end of the year, just shy of 4% of the council’s housing stock was vacant.

The NOAC’s Performance Indicators Report also shows that on average, it took just over 32 weeks to bring properties up to standard last year between tenancies.

While, the average cost of getting tenancies ready was €24,657.
