Vacant House Owners Urged To Make Their Properties Known

A Fianna Fáil Dáil hopeful in Clare insists owners of vacant houses in this county have a responsibility to make their property known to address the housing crisis.

There are currently over 2,500 people on the housing waiting list in Clare, who are looking for a council home, while 125 people, including 46 children, are in receipt of emergency housing supports.

Meanwhile, it’s estimated that there’s a sizeable number of houses around the county that are lying empty, and no compulsory purchase orders have been issued by the local authority.
