Small Drop In Numbers Claiming Pandemic Unemployment Payment In Clare

There’s been a small fall in the number of Clare workers claiming the Government’s Pandemic Unemployment Payment.

Figures from the Department of Social Protection show there are now 14,400 people receiving the 350 euro payment in this county, down from 14,600 the previous week.

Nationally, 9 thousand fewer people are now claiming the payment – the first time there’s been a drop in the number of workers availing of it.

Meanwhile, there are 800 people medically certified for receipt of a Covid-19 related Illness Benefit payment in the banner.

The 350 euro rate is paid out for anyone who has been medically certified to self-isolate or has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
