Safety Warning To Clare Farmers As Inspectors Travel Country

The Health and Safety Authority is urging Clare farmers to bear basic safety in mind as they carry out a two-week blitz of farm inspections.

In a joint effort with their Northern Ireland equivalent, the body will visit a farmyards right across the country to ensure that, in particular, those working at heights are doing so safely.

Though just 6% of the working population are in agriculture, the sector accounts for up to 50% of workplace deaths.
