Reduced CAP Budget Will Provide Big Challenges Says Clare ICSA Rep

The Clare-based General Secretary of the ICSA says it’s becoming increasingly frustrating that farmers are required to do more for less.

European leaders have reached a 1.8 trillion euro EU budget after five days of marathon talks in Brussels.

It includes a 4 billion euro crisis reserve for CAP Pillar 1 payments and a 15 billion euro rural development fund, but overall the Common Agricultural Policy budget for the next seven years has been reduced by over 35 billion euro.
