Sixmilebridge boss John O’Meara feels their victory in the opening round of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship opens up their campaign ahead of the second round.

The 2015 champions had a comfortable win over Clarecastle to move into the winners round, which gives them two shots at reaching the last eight.

The Bridge have won 2 of the last 4 championships in Clare, and sit third in the overall roll of honour.

O’Meara says avoiding the relegation battle also takes huge pressure off his side

Meanwhile one of Inagh/Kilnamona’s key men is hopeful they can put a string of results together to take them into the knockout stages.

It’s after they battled past Crusheen in Round One, and are now within touching distance of the quarter finals.

They last reached that stage in 2012 before going on to narrowly lose their semi final clash with Cratloe.

County star Jason McCarthy says they now need to focus on taking that next step.
