Newmarket Celtic Manager Says Early Goals Costly

Newmarket Celtic’s manager says allowing Pike Rovers to get the upper hand cost them dearly in their semi-final.

Liam Murphy was speaking after his side were knocked out of the FAI Junior Cup by Pike Rovers yesterday, as they vied to become the first Clare team to reach the final of the prestigious competiton.

Pike Rovers led 1-0 at half time and doubled their lead early in the second half. Two Stephen Kelly headers put Newmarket Celtic back in contention.
