Man Taken To Hospital Following Road Crash Near Lissycasey

A man has been taken to hospital following a road crash on the main Ennis to Kilrush road this morning.

Emergency services were alerted at around nine o’clock this morning after a car left the road and hit a tree, on the Ennis side of Caherea National School, in Lissycasey.

The driver of the car, who was the sole occupant, has been taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, where it’s understood he’s being treated for serious injuries.

Gardaí have closed one lane on the N68 to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and a traffic management system is in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on that stretch of road between 8.45 am and 9.15am to contact them at Kilrush Garda station on 065 908 0550.
