Hospital trolleys

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has dropped today, but remains high.

The latest figures from the INMO shows there were 48 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick today, down from 66 yesterday, with 33 on trolleys in the Emergency Department alone.

The overall figure is 11 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when there were 203 patients waiting to be admitted to hospitals across the country.
