Irish Person Injured In London Attack

It has been confirmed that one Irish person was among those injured in yesterday’s terrorist attack in London.

The Department of foreign affairs is ready to provide consular assistance through the Irish Embassy in London, while the Dáil has heard that the person’s injuries are not life-threatening.

Meanwhile, 8 people have been arrested in the wake of the incident.

The Tánaiste says the injuries sustained by an Irish person in the Westminster terrorist attack are NOT considered to be life threatening.

British Prime Minister Theresa May took Irish authorities by surprise this morning when she announced that an Irish person was among those injured in the attack.

In a statement this afternoon Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan says through the embassy in London consular assistance has been offered.

In the Dáil, the Tánaiste and Justice Minister condemned what she said was a cowardly act in London yesterday and outlined what she knew of the Irish person caught up in it.
