Hopes Of Further Growth In Banner Tourism Trade

It’s hoped the appointment of Clare’s first tourism development officer will help drive more visitors to the county.

Local councillor Pat Hayes, who made the call for it, believes they will play a vital role in ensuring the east of the county gets its fair share of the tourists who pass through Clare.

The historic Holy Island on Lough Derg is to undergo a major revamp in an effort to boost tourism there, with a tourist centre in Mountshannon as well as increased boat services planned.
