A member of the Mid-West Regional Health Forum says the people of West Clare may be suffering a disproportionate delay in waiting for ambulance services.
Clare currently has three ambulance bases in Kilrush, Ennistymon and Ennis.
However, fresh concerns are now being raised that when there are two emergencies at the same time in West Clare, locals have to wait for an ambulance to travel there from Ennis or Ennistymon when the other is unavailable.

The UL Hospitals Group has told members of the Regional Health Forum that the average response time for ambulance calls in all of Clare since the start of 2019 is less than sixteen minutes but Kilkee Fianna Fail councillor Cillian Murphy says some people have had to wait at least twice as long.
