Emergency Services Respond To Flooding Issues In Clare

The Clare fire service has taken part in a number of callouts today as part of efforts to avert flooding of homes.

One unit of the fire service spent over two hours battling waters near one premises in Feakle, while they’ve also responded to callouts in the Scariff area today.

It’s after heavy overnight rains, which left a number of roads throughout the county, and especially in East Clare, impassable.

The Council says its crews have been working to clear blocked gullies and drains where necessary, and pumping equipment remains along the River Fergus in Ennis as a precaution.

Flood waters are receding this evening, but motorists are advised to proceed with caution as spot flooding remains an issue on many routes, especially smaller roads.
