Donohoe Commits To Working With Local TDs On Shannon Supports

The Finance Minister has agreed to work with TDs from across the MidWest on efforts to bolster Shannon Airport.

A first online meeting of TDs from Clare, Limerick and Tipperary on the Airport was held this week, at a time when the COVID-19 outbreak has virtually grounded all passenger traffic at Shannon.

The group is being chaired by Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey, who has also raised the issue in the Dáil.

In response, Minister Paschal Donohoe agreed to work with the group, but said plans by the DAA to cut 1000 jobs from Dublin and Cork Airports demonstrates the issues facing airports.
