Dangerous Driving Conditions As Clare Road Temperatures Set To Rise Over 50 Degrees

Clare County Council is urging road users to drive with extreme care, as rising temperatures are melting roads in the county.

During early morning tests, the road temperature on the N68 in Kilrush was almost 41 degrees, while last evening in Scarriff 57 degrees was recorded.

The local authority’s seven gritters have been out today in an attempt to improve driving conditions, and motorists are being urged to watch out for slick surfaces, particularly on minor roads.
