Council Insist Work Is Ongoing To Tackle Waste In Kilkee

Clare County Council insists that efforts are being made to manage waste in Kilkee.

Additional bins were installed in the popular seaside town during the summer period and the local authority says new high specification signage is also being installed on approach roads to highlight and promote Lisdeen Civic Amenity Centre.

It follows calls for increased efforts to tackle waste in the area with local Independent councillor Ian Lynch calling for the model used during the Fleadh in Ennis to be deployed there during the busy summer period.

The model included the provision of larger bins, some for recycling, which Councillor Lynch believes could be successful in Kilkee too.
