A mouthwatering weekend of club hurling action is in store in Clare.
All four quarter finals are down for decision in both the Clare SHC & Clare IHC while one team will lose their spot in the top tier.
Whitegate and St Josephs go head to head in the relegation final in Tulla on Saturday at 3pm with the losers dropping down to intermediate for 2019.
Cusack Park hosts two games on Saturday with the other two on Sunday as fans will be treated to a four top quality games in the race for the Canon.
It starts on Saturday at 2.45pm when last years beaten finalists Clooney/Quin go up against O’Callaghans Mills.
That’s followed by the clash of champions Sixmilebridge and Cratloe who are meeting at this stage for the second year running.
Bridge boss John O’Meara insists that game will have no bearing on how they approach this weekend.
Meanwhile Cratloe will be hoping their run of form can continue after beating Clarecastle comfortably last time out with their football side also looking forward to a championship quarter final.
Manager Alan Neville says any momentum can be vital at this stage of the season.
That game is set for a 4.30pm start on Saturday
Sunday’s action sees Kilmaley and Eire Óg get proceedings underway in Cusack Park.
Eire Óg have taken the shortest route to this point of the championship with two wins from two so far.
Manager Tommy Corbett is pleased with their progression to date
That game starts at 1pm
It’s followed by the meeting of 2016 Munster Club champions Ballyea who will come face to face with the man who coached them to that title when they take on Inagh/Kilnamona who are led by Fergal Hegarty.
The former All Ireland winner insists past allegiances will have no impact on the game.
Ballyea are led by the recently retired Kevin Sheehan who lined out in goals during their run to the All Ireland Final.
They’ve won both games so far in the championship and he says they’ve done what they’ve had to do.
