Clare Councillors Look Set To Call For Shannon To Revert Back To DAA

Clare Councillors look set to formally call for a reversal of Shannon Airport’s Independence.

While the Airport was separated from the DAA, in a move first announced in 2012, promises of 2.5 million passengers a year were never realised, even before the COVID pandemic led to a crisis in aviation.

This has prompted a wider review of Shannon Group by government, and today Fine Gael Councillor John Crowe is to propose that Clare County Council formally back calls for Shannon to revert under the DAA umbrella.
