Clare Braced For All Ireland SHC Semi Final Clash With Galway

A former All Ireland winner with Clare feels the Banner have a huge opportunity to get back to the biggest day in the game.

The 2013 champions square off with reigning champions Galway in Croke Park on Saturday evening as they bid to reach the decider for a second time this decade.

It will be the Banner’s first time back at Jones’s Road since taking home Liam McCarthy 5 years ago, and 1997 winner Niall Gilligan says they deserve to be there.

Meanwhile former captain Tommy Guilfoyle says playing on the big stage will help the Banner raise their performance levels once more.

Cork remain the only team to beat Clare in the championship this year, with victories registered over Waterford, Tipperary, Limerick and Wexford en route to the last four.

Guilfoyle says it’s vital they’re ready for the challenge of the All Ireland champions.
