Calls have been made for a comprehensive transport plan to be put in place in Clare as part of efforts to boost tourism number and Clare Bus.

Corofin Fianna Fail Councillor Joe Killeen has put forward a motion, calling on Clare County Council to integrate with other service providers, including Clare Bus, to extend routes to popular tourist sites.

The NTA has put a number of Clare Bus’ routes out to tender, but in responding to this call the Council has said that it provides a valuable service and that any extension would be welcomed.

The council is due to carry out a review of services to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren National Park at the end of this year and Councillor Killeen has told Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that he hopes it will yield positive results.
