Calls have been made for CCTV cameras to errected at Woodcock Hill as part of efforts to tackle illegal dumping and criminal activity in South East Clare.

Meelick Councillor Cathal Crowe believes permanent equipment should be installed in light of persistent issues along the mountain road between Gallows Hill, Cratloe and Meelick.

The local authority would have to liaise with Coillte, the Irish Aviation Authority and RTÉ, which owns the transmission mast on the site, to bring the project to fruition.
