A total of 17 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Clare today by the National Public Health Emergency Team.
It’s the biggest daily increase recorded in this county so far since the virus outbreak began and brings the total number of confirmed patients here to 136.
A further 44 deaths have also been added to the database nationwide today.

It means there have now been 530 COVID-19 related deaths in the Republic of Ireland since the outbreak began.
Of the 44 new deaths recorded today, 33 were located in the east of the country, three in the north-west, three in the south and five here in the west.
25 of the lives lost today were reported to have had underlying health conditions.
