Clare have suffered their second defeat of the National Football League.
Colm Collins side were beaten by Fermanagh in Brewster Park by 0-18 to 1-10 to leave their hopes of contesting for promotion all but over.
The home side led by 0-8 to 0-7 at the break, and stretched that lead to 0-4 before Keelan Sexton pounced for Clare’s goal in the 45th minute.
Next up is a trip to Newbridge next Sunday afternoon and Collins says they have no excuses for yesterday’s loss
Elsewhere in Division Two, Cork and Meath shared the spoils while Galway eased past Derry and Kildare beat Down.
It leaves Clare in fourth place in the table, with six of the eight sides still not clear of the relegation battle.
