Claire Keville comes from Claran, near Headford in Co. Galway, and presents Tuesday evening's Music in the Glen programme.

Her family’s interest in music was very strong on both sides – her (maternal) grandfather played the whistle and melodeon and her (paternal) grandmother played the melodeon.

Claire studied music at University College Cork and later completed a postgraduate MA. in Ethnomusicology at the University of Limerick, where she graduated with a first class honours in 2000. Her thesis centered round the classic recording of Paddy Canny, P.J. Hayes, Peter O'Loughlin and Bridie Lafferty – a stylish and beautiful recording that has influenced many great musicians.
