STILL THE FAB FOUR

The Beatles are still top of the pops in America.

40 years after the Fab Four conquered the States they've been voted the most liked music artist - ahead of home grown talent including The Eagles and Elvis Presley.

The only other British acts to make the top 20 were Coldplay and The Rolling Stones.

Jacko Concert

Next month's tribute to Michael Jackson in the grounds of a 17th century palace in Vienna will feature a three-hour, star-studded show.

The concert will also be televised live to a global audience of one billion people.

The tribute was originally planned for London's Wembley Stadium.

Cois Fharraige tickets on sale

Tickets for Cois Fharraige in West Clare have gone on sale today.

The three day event in Kilkee from the 11th to the 13th of September finally got the go ahead last week.

There had been fears it would be scrapped this year after it lost its main sponsor earlier this year.

It’s hoped the festival will provide a much needed economic boost for West Clare.

Beyonce

Beyonce's performed with her younger sister at a concert in Japan.

She's also appeared on stage at a fashion launch with Solange - who last month shaved her head, reportedly to avoid being compared with her superstar sibling.

Beyonce has admitted she's not great at taking time off - saying she's touring now until 2010.

Jacko Concert

It's been confirmed that a tribute concert to Michael Jackson WILL take place in Vienna next month.

Some fans had hoped it would be staged in London.

But organisers say members of Jackson's family and a "high-profile line-up of international stars" will perform at the Schoenbrunn Palace.

Tickets go on sale August the 20th.

Britney's kitchen cupboard beauty tips

Britney Spears' beauty secret is aluminium foil.

The 'Womanizer' singer reportedly uses cool strips of the metallic cooking aid to give her lips an instant pick-me-up when she is feeling tired.

A source said: "To keep her lips looking perky and fresh, her make-up artist takes a sheet from a stockpile of frozen foil in his freezer, pokes a hole in it so Britney can breath through her mouth and smoothes it over her face."

The regime apparently helps reduce puffiness and swelling, leaving Britney with a perfect pout.

Spears, 27, is not the only star with an unusual oral beauty regime.

Mercury music awards

Sales of albums vying for this year's Mercury Prize have more than doubled since the nominations were announced.

HMV claims Glasvegas, Friendly Fires and The Invisible have seen the biggest rises.

The 12 bands up for the award were announced last month - the winner will be revealed on September 8th.

Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle's joining the likes of Kate Winslet, Demi Moore and Victoria Beckham by gracing the front of up-market fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar.

The Britain's Got Talent star apparently had a "sensational" makeover for the shoot at a country house in Buckinghamshire.

The magazine - out in the UK next week - shows her in a Princess Diana-style hands-under-the-face pose.

Michael Jackson's parents are said to be hiring private investigators to examine their son's death.

Katherine, who's 79, and 80-year-old Joe Jackson are apparently also considering bringing wrongful death lawsuits.

Lawyers for the pair are also examining the contract for the pop superstar's marathon run of gigs at London's O2.

Arctic Monkeys are releasing their new single 'Crying Lightning' in Oxfam charity shops.

The band – Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Matt Helders and Nick O’Malley - will release the limited-edition seven-inch single, the first from new album Humbug, at every one of Oxfam’s 700 high street shops on Monday August 17.

All proceeds will go to help the charity’s work around the world.
