Building of Hope - Back Home!

Capturing the feeling and intensity of this project is not an easy thing to do.

I can only try.

Is it that initial shock at the sights you first experience when driving through Mombassa?  Is it holding those beautiful little twins (with very serious faces) at the Montessori School?  Is it walking in to the courtyard and seeing the roofs gleaming for the first time?  Or is it when you walk through the arrival gates at Shannon Airport and suddenly realize your part in the project has come to an abrupt end?

It's so interesting to see how group dynamics work.  By the time you've shared the first long-haul flight friends have been made, hangovers have been shared, songs have been sung.  By the time you come home it's a whole lot more involved - intimate knowledge of bowel movements are the order of the day, single performances have become full-on public gigs, and both laughter & tears have been shared in the most wonderful and touching of circumstances.

I don't know about my colleagues and friends on Group 2, but when I walked through the arrival doors at Shannon the other day, I suddenly realized just how much I wanted to turn around and start the adventure all over again.

Jambo Jambo and well done to everyone!
