Tuesday’s edition of Morning Focus was a mix of news and views, and included a visit from members of the Taekwondo Club in Quin who demonstrated a few moves for Gavin.

The show opened, though on a sombre note, with a tribute to the late Oisín Cahill who died tragically in a collision in Ennis in the early hours of Easter Sunday morning. Clare FM’s James Mulhall spoke to family friend, John McMahon.

Then, the talk turned to the on-going fall-out of the Belfast Rape Trial. Gavin discussed the social media commentary and asked Deputy Timmy Dooley (FF spokesperson on Communications) if it’s time for tighter regulation.

After that, the show looked at proposals to set up a rural car-share system to address the lack of transport. Gavin was joined by Marguerite Bourke of Enterprise Ireland and Michael Neylon a member of Clare County Council’s Rural Development Directorate.

Then, Derrick Lynch joined Gavin to discuss the weekend’s sporting action

After that, the Charity, St Vincent de Paul got a special focus, with John Quinlivan dropping in to discuss a fundraising coffee morning and members of the branch at St Flannan’s College discussed their clothing appeal which runs from April 9th to 13th.
