Morning Focus – Wednesday 31/08/17

The midweek edition of Morning Focus had a mix of politics, human interest and fantastic live music in studio with Ennis woman Síomha Brock.

You can listen back to Síomha’s interview below:

The show opened with a discussion of the oral hearing in Limerick of plans by Irish Cement to burn tyres at their plant in Mungret.

With the new Sycamore Suite opening at the Ennistymon Community Nursing Unit, Gavin spoke to some of those involved. Tomsie O’Sullivan, Secretary of Friends of Ennistymon Hospital joined Gavin on the line, along with Minister Jim Daly, the minister for State with responsibility for Mental Health and Older People. Listen back below:

Gerardine Quinlivan from Springfield, Clonlara, was Gavin’s next guest. She gave her sympathies to those affected by recent severe flooding in Donegal.

Gavin then heard an amazing story of endurance and courage of an American woman who overcame trauma to become an ‘ironman’ triathlete. Listen back to Annmarie LeBohn’s interview below:

As always on a Wednesday, the show rounded off with a visit from John Underhill of Burren Vets. Listen back below as John tells Gavin about the joint problems that animals can experience, and the best treatments for them.
