Morning Focus – Wednesday 10/05/17

Another packed edition of Morning Focus opened with a story from Miltown Malbay where residents of Ballhard Road are trying to tackle a rat infestation at an empty home in their estate.
Michael Nestor of the Ballhard Road Residents’ Association told Gavin the situation at the recently-vacated house is a ‘kick in the teeth’ for those who work hard to maintain the estate.

Gavin’s next guest in studio was Tom Coughlan, former CEO of Clare County Council. Tom’s recently been appointed to the board of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and he spoke to Gavin about its ongoing work, including a campaign this month on machine safety on farms.

The talk then turned to controversies surrounding An Garda Siochána. Gavin was joined by Fine Gael senator, Martin Conway, a member of the Oireachtas Justice Committee.
