The importance of knowing your blood pressure was one of the many topics discussed on Tuesday’s Morning Focus. Gavin had his reading taken on air with Anna O’Donoghue of the Irish Heart Foundation to show how quick and easy the process is. Tuesday’s show also looked at the legacy of the late Martin McGuinness, as news the passing of the North’s Deputy First Minister broke. Gavin spoke to Kerry Sinn Fein TD Martin Ferris and later to the Ennis-based former head of the INTO, Declan Kelleher, who met Mr McGuinness a number of times. Listen back here.

As the search for R116 enters its second week, Gavin was joined on the line by Bernard Lucas, husband of the late Caitríona, a volunteer with Doolin Coast Guard. Bernard has been assisting with the search off the Mayo coast.

As the trolley crisis in our hospitals shows no sign of abating, the impact is beginning to be felt on cancer patients who are having procedures cancelled. Gavin was joined to discuss the issue by Dr Liam Glynn, Chair of Communications with the NAGP and a Ballyvaughan-based GP.

Tommy Corbett of Carey Corbett Financial Services in Ennis joined Gavin in studio for his fortnightly advice slot. This week he continued his discussion of motor insurance issues.

Miltown Malbay couple Fiona Whyte and Seán Malone have just written a book on their experience of surrogacy in India and their struggle for legal recognition of their twins, Donal and Ruby. They spoke to Morning Focus producer Fiona McGarry. Listen back here.
